Candace Ellman has been teaching oboe for 33 years. A native of Long Island, after receiving her BA from Oberlin College, she relocated to the Denver area where she received her MA from the University of Denver, and almost (regrettably) finished a PhD in musicology. An avid performer, she has played with numerous community ensembles, including the Colorado Wind Ensemble, the Aurora Symphony, and the Lakewood Symphony. By day she is employed by the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the Neurology Department. She has two children, one currently a sophomore in college and the other a senior in high school. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, skiing, hiking, and all that the great Colorado outdoors has to offer!
